THE 5 BUILDING BLOCKS TO WRITING A GREAT RESUME

To put it simply, here are the five steps.

1.  Understanding your personality and strengths.

2.  Mapping out your skills and identifying transferable skills.

3.  Perform market research on Job Descriptions to tailor the resume to the business problems and keywords of the position you want.

4.  Writing out quantifiable metrics in the resume – Using the S.C.A.M.P.I. Resume Writing System.

5.  Putting it all together with collaboration on the rough draft and final draft.

Following this process, my clients are getting more interviews at positions they love!

Coach Dave March

What Makes Me Different?

Simply put it’s the 1:1 coaching calls you receive in crafting the resume, with an author, recruiter, and certified professional career coach and it’s walking you through my five building block process step by step.

While most resume writers will send you a questionnaire or form to fill out and complete by yourself. Then, send your old resume to them and receive your completed resume.

Coach Dave’s process is different. It is much more holistic, in-depth, and comprehensive.

After each building block document is completed, Coach Dave will strengthen your answers by challenging you on them and seeking to amplify your strengths.

He will use his understanding and experience in personality psychology, marketing, personal branding, and recruiting in both corporate and agency environments to help you STAND OUT and ATTRACT the attention you and your skills deserve.

Because of this, your resume will NOT end up looking generic and just another resume in a huge ocean of candidates for the same role.

To put it plainly, the five-building block process and coaching has successfully gotten my clients $100k, $200k, and $300k positions.

To further explain, these 1:1 – 60-Minute Resume Building Coaching sessions on ZOOM, when going over your building block documents.

Let’s look at a detailed breakdown of the five building block documents.

Resume Building Blocks #1 and #2

  • Understanding your personality strengths to illustrate your soft skills and build out your personal brand.
  • Help you explain how you have saved the company money, made the company money, or made the company more efficent and profitable.
  • Take an inventory of your technical, professional, and personal skills.

Resume Building Blocks #3 and #4

  • Rank and Review your best-fit positions and their associated job descriptions with you.

  • Perform market research on the companies and positions to change the messaging in your resume.

  • Compare your resume to those positions, so you can receive valuable feedback and use tools to verify we are making impactful changes

Resume Building Block #5

  • Apply my unique S.C.A.M.P.I. resume writing framework to craft quantifiable metrics from your experience, projects, and accomplishments.

We put it all together and collaborate on rough and final drafts

  • Coach Dave rewrites all of the information from your previous resume into the best-fit template for the position you want for increased readability

  • We collaborate and make edits together on rough and final drafts and then you get a resume that gets more interviews

The outcome of coaching you in this way is much more than a STAND-OUT resume. You will learn more about yourself, how to market yourself, and ways to communicate your value during an interview.

This process is for our Done-With-You AND Done-For-You service, here is the link for this service – Resume Rewrite & Resume-Building Coaching – Coach Dave March

Lastly, we do offer a “Do it yourself” option where you get access to the resume writing course and the building block documents with little (1 hour or 15 mins) to ZERO coaching.

This, of course, is not advised as it won’t come out the same as if we worked together from beginning to end on it and wrote the resume together.
